Essex County Labour Group consists of 1 Labour Councillor elected to Essex County Council in June 2009. The principal role of the Essex County Labour Group is to provide opposition to the Conservative controlled County Council.

We wish to represent your views to the best of our ability and invite you to contact us whenever you require our assistance. You may contact us at the Labour Group Office, direct to the relevant Labour Party Spokesperson or, of course, your local Labour County Councillor.

If you do not have a Labour Councillor in your Division, you can contact us at County Hall or, if you prefer look at the map In your area and contact your nearest Labour Member.

The Group's activities are not confined to County Hall and Labour Members work very hard in their locality, representing the interests of their constituents and dealing with any queries and concerns members of the public have concerning County Council activities.

Labour Members serve all their constituents - not just the ones who voted for them.

Labour Members also take up important regional and national positions to best represent the people of Essex.

Labour County Councillors work very closely with Labour MPs to ensure that Essex's interests are taken to the heart of Government and to the Prime Minister's door if necessary.

Essex Labour Councillors also work closely with Essex Regional MEPs to ensure that our voice is also heard in the European Union.
